How long have you been with the company?

Two years this summer.

What Practice are you in?

Client Engagement

What made you join Truss?

Was with my last company for more than 14 years and was looking for a new challenge with a remote-first, user-focused mindset.

What is your favorite part about working in your particular field?

Always learning and growing while interacting with every aspect of the company. CEMs don't always know the answers, but we sure know how to find them.

What is your favorite Truss memory?

My very first prac, day 5 at Truss, and whoever was giving the founders' update said something like, "...and f**k that." Right then and there I knew I was in the right place. It wasn't the swear itself, it was that this was one of the owners of the company being human, vulnerable, and honest. During the interview process I kept hearing about "company transparency," and this one moment solidified that as real.

What has surprised you most about working here?

The passion Trussels bring to this work. These are people who aren't building systems because it is their job but because they truly want to make lives better.

Which one of our values resonates with you most?

Torn between two: Build Alliances, specifically working shoulder-to-shoulder with clients and Pursue Mastery, specifically improving via marginal gains. Working shoulder-to-shoulder is critical for successful delivery of projects and meeting real needs of users. At the end of the day, a project will fail if no one is available to take it over no matter how wonderful our solution was. And for me personally, I strive to experiment, iterate, and challenge myself each day. I value this approach tremendously on projects, but implement it in how I operate daily.
